The Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival is an international documentary film festival organised by the TV broadcaster Al Jazeera Balkans. The Festival promotes filmmakers and documentary films addressing social phenomena and universal human values such us courage, truth, justice, tolerance and cosmopolitanism.
The Festival includes both competition and out-of-competition programmes, presenting around 20 documentary films every year. During the Festival, a several day training for young filmmakers and students from the region is organised in cooperation with the Al Jazeera Media Institute.
The Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival takes place every year in September. The first edition of the Festival was organised in 2018.
