New website www.citiesoffilm.org is launched connecting all 18 cities in the world that have the UNESCO City of Film status within the global UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Sarajevo joined the cities with this prestigious status in October 2019. The joint website will contribute to having a closer international cooperation among the cities as well as faster and easier learning about activities and initiatives in all cities.
Natalie Moore, representative of the Bristol UNESCO City of Film team that worked on the website initiative, said: “We’re delighted to launch this new website on behalf of the entire Cities of Film network. For the first time we have a single shared platform that anyone can visit, wherever they are in the world, to learn more about how Cities of Film are leading development in film-based learning, engagement and innovation. As an online tool the site will help us work more closely with one another, enhance how we share best practice and create new opportunities to collaborate creatively. Given the challenges we’re all facing in the current pandemic, it’s never been more important for us to stay as connected as possible digitally.”
“Sarajevo as a new UNESCO City of Film participates in shared activities with other cities, and we have also participated in this initiative. The shared website will help us connect easily with other cities, learn about other cities and use this special platform for international promotion of Sarajevo through the creative field of film ”, said Magdalena Popovic, Sarajevo UNESCO City of Film Coordinator.
